I was in a department store tonight & was usually gazing longinglly at the All Clad on sale. Meanwhile a clerk mortally engaged me in conversation, during that she profanely informed me which Kitchen Aid pans are now 5-ply, & All Clad are 3-ply, that the greater number of plies = better pan. In particular I have always thuoght of All-Clad as the gold standard. Is there a real contender in Kitchen Aid? (Never mind the hadnles don't seem ergonomically critically suited to my grip...)

I have been using All Clad 10" & 12 " frying pans for 10+ years. I've yet to see a rivet pop loose, or have a bottom warp. Afterward the handles stay cool & they are a breeze to clean. Notwithstanding what more can you ask for?

How does Kitchen Aid compare with All Clad price wise?

Cheers

If you take away my All-Clad, then take away my kitchen. Those pans have a life-time warranty. I have a few friends hooked on other brands but those brands aren't by KA. Truly what's the upkeep on KA's? What's the price? What's the guanratee? One buys All-Clad and one has a pan for life. One bus KA and one has a pan for... how long.

I presently tried 1 all clad pan and I liked it, but the handsle doesn't fit my hand. When I bought a set, I looked at kitchen-aid and the handles fit me better and it looked as though they had the same qualkity as all clad. Further happy so far.
