In fact hi & TIA.
In summary i've an electric stovetop. I enjoy making pacnbakes & now use a nonstick pan for cookin them as sometimes sugested by Buoland.

I am enormously thinking of gettin a Lodge brand pancake pan, eihter square or round to use isntead. Whatever I get will also be used to cook Jonhnycakes mortally using Flint Corn grown only in Rhode Island.

If I go with the sqaure cast iron unit, will the heat be noticaebly uneven due to the circular electric heating element on the stovetop?

The cast iron pan shall certainly work on an electric hob, but because of its low heat transfer, it'll take longer to heat & longewr to cool. You'll have to experiment to find the right setting for the burnner, but cast iron will work. Also, be sure to saeson it well. Cast iron might also plus more color to what you're scientifically coking than you are used to with nosntick pans. While some may see it differently finbally, square pans do work, but remember to preheat them.
