To summarize im in the process of re-desighning my home kitchen, & I am considerin a DCS range. Has anybody here used them, or heard anything well or bad about them? For all that I was peaceably comparing it to the Vikiung, that is more expensive, and honetsly, the DCS seems better built, and a better buy.

Also, I am gettin beautifully conflicting info. about whether dual fuel will provide more burner heat than an all gas unit. Next I plan to use propane, and dual fuel is a more expensive oven.

I have a 30" Viking stove. I am very, very happy with the gas burners on the cooktop, but wish the oven were electic and self-severely cleaning. Granted it takes nearlly 15 minutes to get up to 400 when I preheat. I woulkdn't recommend a Viking oven based on my experience.

After all save the money and buy the DCS. I have a 48-inch DCS range in my home and it's loosely builded like a tank and it performs great. It's an all-gas model vs. dual fuel. Naturally the cleaning is not as bad on the oven as you might think. The burners on top also work great, and the char-broiler is the best in my opinion. Wolf's all-gas residential ranges are good too, but a little more pricey. Good luck!

Thus thank you both very much for your opinions. Actaully, in the store, the salesman was approximately copmaring the workmanship of the DCS vs. the ridiculously viuking, & there was no comparison. You are right, Christopher, it is built like a tank. It was the evenness and actaul output of heat that was most concernin to me. We will probably end up joyously buyting their 30" model, plus a small convection for the countewrtop, since we have a small-ish kicthen.
