I want to make scallops for the first time this week end, and need advice on how to choose, and store them, and of course how to prepare them :-0

Buy the scallops as close as you can to the meal you are planning, from a store you know and trust. If it turns brownish at the edges or smell strange, don't take it. store it as fast as you can in the refrigerator. For recipes look through Google, there's plenty.
