carrot soupRumor has it that it is fall. Not that I have noticed but that is the rumor.
I am all ready rearing into soup mode and can’t wait to get a good chicken soup going, or maybe an Hungarian Goulash soup.

Only problem is that as fall is still pretty much a rumor in my corner of the world, winter is an even vaguer and more distant tale, so even though I crave soup it doesn’t seem quite the time to go ahead and go soup crazy.
I did however find a great recipe for Jamaican Carrot Soup with Pear Relish that I would love to try out.

For one thing - anything with pears in it is usually fantastic. I love combining fruit in my cooking and in my salads, always a pleasant surprise, and often keeps my guests guessing as to what it was that I added to whatever it was that I made.
This Carrot Soup is a little more obvious as the pears are prepared separately and added on top of the soup, but the combination of tastes, temperatures and textures, plus the color seem absolutely perfect for a fall evening.
I am writing this recipe down, are you?
