I'm looking for maintainence help with my cast iron pan, in terms of how are you supposed to look after it. I've heard some things like dont use detergent or stello's incause you rub off the varnish....

Wash it in water, oil it, and heat it up in an oven.

wash it with soap a water, be gentle, use a 180 or any superfine grit sandpaper to gently rub off anything that won't come off, then immediately put it on the stove and heat it until all the water evaporates, then rub in oil with a rag until smooth
